Reflexively, you curl tighter. Just another minute. Just another minute of sleep is all you need, but the sun waits for no one. Wait. The sun? After many days and nights with only moonlight to guide you, your eyes snap open and your pupils contract at the light.

It's been a while, hasn't it?

Bask in this euphoria for however long it lasts, until your memory snaps back against your mind like a rubber band. Weren't you dead? No matter how you met your end, you certainly remember dying in vivid detail. The pain that corresponds to the last moment's of your life chooses then to make itself known, trying to wriggle free from your skin almost literally. That mark on your skin wasn't there before either.

Take a moment to breathe and get your bearings, and really take everything into focus. The warm rays of sun that dance upon your skin are colorful and fragmented like a kaleidoscope, the effect of being filtered through stained glass. Of all the places to wake up, it seems you're inside a church that's no stranger to you, St. Mary's Basilica. While the odds are good you've woken up with company somewhere near by, the glint of gold from the altar will likely catch your attention regardless—embedded deep in the altar stands a golden staff, two sculpted wings draped down its sides.

While some things are the same, and some things are different, there are still more questions than answers. But the inscription engraved into the roof of the ceiling of the Church, now visible in proper lighting seems rather apt: Welcome to Krakow (again).

If I knew how to fix your vessel, I would tell you. The fact that you have maintained your sense of self is nothing short of a miracle. That woman...all signs point to the notion that she picked this world to invade for a reason. This means her plans involve the manifestations, in some way. But without a clearer picture of what her ultimate goal is.... I will repeat myself this one time, only. If there is a way, I-we will find it. If not, we will simply have to make one.

Have you discovered anything new regarding Lady Coward's motives? [ Now is a good time to shove your investigation findings at her. ]

Well, they had said before she was doing something about an invasion in her own homeworld. That part we told you before. And that she had said something about having an original body and her original soul lies in someone eles's body right now that she's planning to get rid of. She also someone plans on taking some of the others with her. Her favorites, I'm sure. And that she's planning on leaving very soon, likely as soon as everything around us collapses because our luck. Which means whatever she's doing here is complete, or very nearly.

I had little interest in her plans in the first place. But she seemed insistent that they required us to be the ones to kill each other, rather than herself. Of course, those she or her assistant disposed of at the executions were seemingly another matter entirely.

[He seems to have no feelings either way on that despite being one of the 'disposed', so to speak.]

Whether that has something to do with our status as manifestations or survivors or not, no one can say.

It's evident that if she wanted to kill you all, she could. If not now, surely when she brought you here and subjected you to the manifestations.

She either needed time, or something only you could provide. Possibly both.

Oh and right. There's remmywemmy, her 7th assistant apparently. Who may be a demon she's acquired. That guy over there said that he's from the same homeworld as she is but if he's a demon I have my doubts.

Also there's speculation he's using our powers, the ones of us who have them of course. Supposedly he can teleport -- that would be one of mine if it's the case. But we can't spy on him, so I can't confirm.

Your powers were not lost to you, at least not completely. It is impossible for me to confirm without being in direct contact with someone who is not in zero state, but I imagine the power granted to you by the manifestations simply "buried" your original powers.

...you need look no father than Noelle. It was the mixing of her natural power, power granted to her by a manifestation, and her broken vessel which results in her demise.

Right, that pesky matter. I guess putting that aside, it's still impossible to use them. I'm not as skilled as the Goddess but if I could maybe teleport us elsewhere [ if he tried with everything in him, which was, after all, nothing right now so another moot point. ]

God, I don't know. Let's think about something else for now. So, obviously things are different from here and Night. I suspect it's remmywemmy, but again, can't confirm. Like the clock tower has new gears apparently in the Night, so it runs. What's the purpose of that?

In the Day, this clocktower functions with electricity as its power source yet it was working in the Night from the early weeks, correct? Far be it from me to assume whatever Lady Coward is thinking, but I would guess she simply wanted a functioning clock.

Or are you asking me why there are differences between the Night and Twilight in the first place?
