Where you were doesn't matter. All you know is that you turn a corner, and suddenly you see a place that doesn't fit at all where you were before. Were you indoors? Not anymore, this is a street. Were you in a modern city? That has changed, as this looks more old-fashioned. Looking behind you, you see more of that street.
Welcome.
Above you, the moon is shining, large and bright, luminescence reflected on the glass of storefronts and parked cars, nary a hint of dust to be seen—but perhaps that makes sense considering the sleek mix of sports and luxury models. Some of the buildings around you are shuttered, others look like they could be open but their signs on the window might look a little different from what you're used to. Unless Witamy is how you normally say "welcome". All the darkness feels cold, the fires on the lamp posts and the moon are the only sources of light around. Not even the traffic lights are on.
Not having anywhere else to go, you continue forward, until you see a woman and a man, standing in front of a plaza. The woman grins, like she's very pleased about something, while the man stays a few steps behind, just watching everyone with a more subdued yet equally pleased smile. The woman steps forward, raising her voice:
"I know you're wondering why you're here. Sorry, you won't get that answer anytime soon, or ever. Don't ask when you'll be leaving, that's just as pointless of a question. You're here, you now have a power, and you should try not to die.
Have fun!"
Welcome to the Interest Check for
Antumbra a semi-private murder game run by Limon
gibarta, Fishy
fishytasty and Nick
creatorofathousanduniverses. Characters will find themselves wandering a desolate city street at night, the moon hanging large and bright overhead. With no one around except for others who are just as confused as they are and a strange tingling sensation in their chest, it's up to the
Survivors to find an answer to the mysteries in this once-bustling Polish city...or at least a way home. But hey everything's not so bleak, given that every Survivor is the recipient of a new ability they didn't ask for. Better make the best of it, right? It's not like this new power would be used for anything heinous like murder.
Antumbra is
murder mystery style, and there are plenty of mysteries to go around. Why are they in Poland? Why are they stuck in a perpetual night? How come the electricity doesn't work? What are those shadows lurking around the corner? Who exactly are their generous benefactors?
